Bright red fruit, perfect balance and good, firm acidity give me exactly what I am looking for from this wine. It’s a little more stylish than the Rancia, but not polished to a fine sheen. Delicious with food and on its own. Drink now and for many more years.

One of the nice things about Fontalloro is that it is still relatively affordable. An Italian website is offering the 2016 for about €36.

Yep. When I go to Torino on business there is a fantastic wine shop near my hotel that has Fontalloro in the mid €30s.
