2005 Vollenweider Wolfer Goldgrube Auslese
It's been a few years since I opened one of these, and the rich unctuous high octane gold is still oozing from the bottle. Yet there is also a hint that the finish is inching towards sleek fresh briskness, maybe trying to stretch out and evolve. I'm not sure I have the patience to keep waiting, and I'm not even sure it will be worth it. This is a nice glass of wine to roll around the mouth right now, and that may be good enough for me.

(Just don't plan on drinking anything else afterwards. The thick luscious sugar coated my tongue and made my post-riesling glass of cognac taste like nothing but alcohol!)

Delish!

I don’t have the ‘05, but the ‘06 is dessert elixir.
