Completely in the zone right now, this shows honeyed ripe fruit, floral tones, and deep minerality. The palate carries peach and mango fruit through a completely dry and persistent finish. What's most impressive is the depth of flavor for a barely medium-bodied wine.

Brundlmayer has a genius on the premises who's managed to find a way to detect TCA in bottle without uncorking it. That's the only explanation I have as to why the local importer who used to carry them had something close to 75% attrition. It's like they shipped off every infected bottle to Israel.

But I loved whatever bottles I opened that managed to avoid TCA.

Was this over a discrete set of vintages?

No more than 2-3, the importer was pretty inept (not that the market for Austrian wines was every very good in Israel) and they stopped the experiment after a few years and then folded altogether.
