- 2017 Goodfellow Family Cellars Pinot Noir Long Acre Whistling Ridge Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Ribbon Ridge (8/31/2021)
Two hours after opening the wine is starting to unfurl.
Bright, fresh red fruits dominated the wine at first, but the more time went on additional elements began to emerge. First it was a dash of brown spice. That was followed by fennel and a fresh shovelful of damp earth. Finally a clear note of nectarine came through on the finish. Tannins clamped down on the finish, but not painfully, just a reminder that patience is a virtue.
