by TomHill » Mon Oct 11, 2021 5:18 pm

Tried these two Novys over the weekend:
1. Novy Syrah SonomaCnty (14.7%) 2004: Med.dark color w/ fair amount of bricking; rather strong cedary/pencilly/oldRed slight blackberry/boysenberry/
ripe Syrah nose; quite tart/tangy/very metallic strong pencilly/cedary/oldRed/tired bit blackberry/Syrah bit oxidized flavor w/ light smooth/drying tannins; a bit
of fruit is hanging in there but pretty tired/dried out and DOA; move along folks, nothing to see here.

2. Novy Zin BarbieriVnyd/RRV (14.8%) 2004: Med.color w/ some bricking; slight blackberry/peppery/RRV Zin rather cedary/pencilly/oldZin slight toasty/oak
pretty tired nose; soft some tangy/metallic slight blackberry/peppery/RRV Zin bit earthy rather cedary/pencilly/oldZin/tired flavor w/ light smooth/drying tannins;
still a bit of RRV Zin fruit remaining but pretty tired & dried out; a Zin undergoing its death throes.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I didn't have much hope for these two orphans when I pulled them to try. They fully delivered on these expectations.
