WTN: Two Siduri PinotNoirs '04....(short/boring)

by TomHill » Mon Oct 11, 2021 5:33 pm

Tried these two over the weekend:
1. Siduri PinotNoir SantaLuciaHighlands (14.2%) 2004: Med.light color w/ some bricking; quite pencilly/toasty/Siduri oak some metallic/pungent rather cedary/pencilly/oldRed
light cherry/PN bit complex nose; lightly tart rather tired/oxidized cedary/pencilly/oldRed rather metallic slight cherry/PN flavor w/ light dried-out tannins; pretty much a
dead & tired old Pinot.

2. Siduri PinotNoir ClosPepeVnyd/SantaRitaHills (14.3%) 2004: Med.color w/ some bricking; some PN/black cherry/cherry some tired/pencilly/oldRed bit complex/Burgundian
nose; fairly tart some PN/black cherry/cherry bit toasty/pencilly/Siduri oak some tired/faded bit complex flavor w/ light smooth/drying tannins; long rather pencilly/Siduri oak
some cherry/black cherry/PN some cedary/oldRed some complex finish w/ light gentle tannins; still has some PN fruit left but clinging to life & on its last legs.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Low expectations for these two '04's as well. The ClosPepe was the best of a pretty sorry lot.
