Started working on my recent Carlisle arrivals last night:
1. Carlisle Grenache RossiRanch/SonomaVlly/SonomaCnty (15.1%; 11% co-frmtd Mourv; 225 cs) 2019: Med.light color; very strong Grenache/strawberry light plummy/blackberry bit earthy/dusty/OV slight SonomaVlly/peppery light toasty/oak/pencilly bit complex quite attractive nose; rather soft fairly rich/lush strong strawberry/Grenache sligt tangy/metallic strong dusty/OV/earthy some toasty/oak bit complex flavor w/ light bit tangy tannins; very long bit hot/alcoholic/fumey strong strawberry/Grenache/plummy/blackberry light toasty/pencilly/oak some dusty/OV finish w/ light gentle tannins; an altogether pleasant somewhat rustic Grenache but just that. $39.50

1. Guess I was expecting a bit more profoundity from this Grenache. It was certainly pleasant enough, a bit on the rstic side. I think I would have liked it more if it had more high-toned Grenache fruit to it. But I wouldn't throw it out of bed.
