1998 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spaetlese, Studert-Pruem

Light, bright yellow-gold color. Bountiful, complex aromas of pears, peaches, and peony, with a hint of cinnamon spice and riesling asphalt. Unctuous mouth-feel with citrus notes added to the pears and peaches. Just the right amount of sweetness perfectly balanced by lively acidity. It finishes with a crescendo of orange and pineapple that lasts several minutes. This wine is a total delight, and should continue to be so for some years. Curly double Larry.

1998 is a really fantastic vintage in a number of areas of Germany. It doesn't get much love, but I enjoy every bottle I get to open.

In the zone now!
