WTN: Just a couple of winners

by Jim Grow » Sun Jan 16, 2022 4:00 pm

I have not posted lately but still opening bottles daily.

2013 Radio-Coteau Dusty Lane Syrah......quite nice medium bodied syrah with interesting complexity, tastes like viognier in there, may improve but delicious now. I see why David loves this producer.

2001 Pegau Res..still going strong and all the earthy ,woodsy elements dominating over fruit, wonderful but maybe my last (or not)

2016 Pavie Decesse.....6.5 hr. decant but mostly inaccessable...very dark black....will wait 5 or more years on remaining

Good to see you again, Jim. I may have that Radio-C syrah--like you, a Bueker influenced purchased. :)

Huh? I love Radio-Coteau?

I own exactly zero.

I think I have tasted exactly three bottles.

Must have been Tom Hill, then. I quote: "Whenever I pull out an older Shane/Dehlinger/Radio-Coteau/Novy/Carlisle Syrah and get blown away by it...I scold myself for not buying more."

I was scouring WineBid one weekend looking at aged syrahs and favorable words here reminded me that I'd never had a Radio-Coteau, so I bid. Doesn't take much to push me off my perch. :)

I need to pull a 2001 Pegau from my cellar soon.
