WTN: Benjamin Leroux Meursault 2018

by Jay Labrador » Thu Jan 20, 2022 8:08 am

Lockdown Wine #124. We haven't actually been locked down, but Omicron is keeping me indoors as we've had to deal with a succession of cases at home (so far, I'm negative), and a few places have voluntarily suspended operations in the meantime while we get over this wave. First wine for 2022! Although I did have some sake and a whisky or rum nearly every other day as the weather is very cool now for this part of the world.

Greenish tinge. A rather full-ish Meursault. Melon, pineapple, and a touch of orange at the finish. Good length, ends on a stony note. Not really a chardonnay guy, but drank it faster than I normally would. Easy and enjoyable with a roast chicken. Very young, but no complaints here.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

Haha! I do enjoy the occasional non-riesling.

Same here. I actually drink a lot more Chardonnay-based wines than I used to.
