2009 Simon Bize Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Fournaux Pinot Noir
Youthful, juicy and supple, almost no secondary nuance. Blind would guess it to be a reticent Californian vs. a notable, ripe year Burgundy 12 years out. Zero sediment. Clean dark cherry fruit without the spice of the '09 Bize S-l-B Aux Guette. Overall, disappointed though there's clearly more here for those who wait.
