Opened last night for a vegetarian shitake mushroom stir-fry:

2007 Cadre Vineyards 'The Architect' Pinot Noir Central Coast
Never had anything from this winery before and acquired it second hand. Classy label highlights the fact that the grapes were sourced somewhat equally from four different vineyards in Santa Rita Hills, Carmel Valley, Arroyo Grande and Santa Maria (Bien Nacido). To what extent that was an opportunity to prove something has been lost to to the ages. Initially, cardboard on the nose with black coffee dominating sketchy dark fruits and a bitter finish. Opened up minorly over the next hour but never showed the mature nuances one hopes for in an aged pinot. This one won't mature, it will just fade. And for now, drinkable but not desirable.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
