2019 Beau Vigne Cabernet Sauvignon Cult Napa Valley
Just saw this at Costco for $30. I paid $50 for mine (I need wines like this to feed the neighbors) a few months ago when it was supposedly a $99 wine. No idea what's going on, but we tried it last night. Uncorked four hours in advance (no help) but not decanted. Initially dark maroon color, med-full bodied, more cassis and plum than the black cherry typical of Napa, some cedar, whiff of V.A., baby fat. Into the second hour the wine firms up, the VA gets replaced mint and cocoa and newly revealed tannins improve the finish. Performs way above the $30 price tag, if ballbuster CalCab's your jam.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Wasn’t there a wine actually named Ballbuster? Aussie Shiraz?

Yup. The producer's Tait.

This wasn't quite that bad, but definitely too big for me.

I actually bought a bottle of Tait Ball Buster once, out of sheer curiosity - figured that I'd give is a test tickle, as it were...it epitomized what I loathe in some Australian wines - could almost have used it to pour over pancakes. Well not really, but over ripe and single tone - sweet fruit.

Wait, they named their wine "Cult?"
Let me guess, really heavy bolttle?

Yup. Clever marketing choice, actually.
