WTN: Live Freisa or Die

by David M. Bueker » Sat Jul 02, 2022 7:32 pm

2020 Idlewild Freisa - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (7/2/2022)
A year in bottle has honed the rough edges of this wine. It’s still juicy, but no longer so tannic. There are delicate floral tones, and even a hint of tobacco emerging as the wine gets more air. This has evolved very well from a year ago. Looking forward to future vintages.

Really enjoyed this wine.

I was wondering, but did not see a note on it in your Idlewild post.

I made a separate post on it out of chronological order. That is, after our visit they sent a new shipment containing the Freisa which we tasted right away and I did post on it, but that was before I got around to posting notes from the visit in Sonoma. (At which they did not serve the Freisa.)

Huh. Didn’t come up in a search…of the board or my brain.
