2020 Desire Lines Carignan Evangelho - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Contra Costa County (7/15/2022)
Somehow, all the red wines from Desire Lines have a significant savory undertone. Doesn’t matter which site or what grape, there is a bass note that brings intense depth to the wines. This one has an element of black cherry hard candy, but with the savory backing it’s never cloying. Fascinating as usual with this Carignan-based wine.
