2017 Dirler-Cade Riesling Spiegel - France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru (11/7/2022)
Pop and pour. First sniff is all orange zest and honeysuckle. It’s light bodied for recent Alsatian vintages, showing delicacy of flavor while maintaining emphatic aromatics. There’s more intensity of flavor the longer it’s open, but it never becomes forceful. Finishes dry, and the orange zest carries on long after the last sip. This seems like an early to mid-term drinker, capturing the showy aromatics while they are at their best.
