2013 Hunt McKay Cabernet Sauvignon Morisoli Vineyards Rutherford
Opened Saturday morning for the WA/CA Bordeaux Grape tasting but it didn't unwind enough to take it along, so it was recorked and consumed Monday when it had finally relaxed a bit. A really superb bottle made by the Karl Lawrence winemaker from luxurious Morisoli fruit in the style of 70's California cabernets made for long-aging. This one is just barely drinkable now, and I'd bet on it reaching its apogee around 2030 and beyond.

Interesting. Never heard of the winery. How did you come across it?

I don't remember. But all I had to hear was Morisoli and the winemaker's name and I was in for six.
