2019 Halcon Vineyards Mourvèdre - USA, California, North Coast, Yorkville Highlands (12/2/2022)
I tried one of these shortly after release, and it was so tight I decided to let the rest sit for a while. My patience lapsed, and so I did a splash decant to get some air into the wine. That worked wonders, as 30 minutes post decant it was all bright fruit, floral and deep earthy undertones. Really delicious, and made me want to immediately open another one. The only thing that decanting did not resolve was a firm tannic bite on the finish, but the depth of fruit was more than enough to allow some medium term cellaring.

Hmmm...may have this wine. Will go look.
