Although I don't cellar many Barberas, I do enjoy them and think about them as a kind of Piemonte Burgundy that can be enjoyed in youth but often ages well too.

This one has aged sufficiently to start showing some interesting secondary characteristics - the tannins have muted a bit, and the nose shows some meaty notes plus the usual slightly sour cherry aromas and the expected high acidity. Clean and interesting. In prime time now and hard to say if it will lose or gain with a bit of additional age, but my bet is that it will get even more interesting.
