WTN: Jackson-Triggs Merlot 2004

Okanagan Valley.

Deep purple color.

The first glass of the wine was, in a word, terrible: bitter, thin, little fruit and an annoying effervecence on the tongue that reminded me of my neighbour's incredibly bad homemade wine.

Don't ask me why, but I persevered and, presto, change-o, the wine came back from the dead.

Round in the mouth, milk chocolate, cherry fruit, tart overall but with a hint of creaminess, turning lean toward the end.

Tart and drying finish.

I still believe this was an off bottle but I am impressed by the fact that it was able to get itself together enough to deliver an enjoyable drinking experience.

Jackson-Triggs produces wine from Ontario and BC vineyards and I am starting to learn that the secret is to drink only BC product!! :D
