I am not anti Parker, I just have an anti Parker palate. Don't like big fruit, hedonistic (hell, don't even know if I can spell it correctly) and certainly dislike high alcohol and oak. I bought '99 and '01 and only bought a case of 2000. If that makes me a Bordeaux nut, so be it. Opened a bottle of '00 Meyney, my idea of the best QPR property in Bordeaux. Approachable but will be good for at least another 6-8+ years. Nice big dark fruit, not sweet or over-the-top, chewy, substantial body and just what I hoped for. This property did not sell out to the modern style point gods but did reveal the ripe approachable vintage. The bigest compliment was that my wife liked it. Will wait a couple of years before I open another one but I like Bordeaux with some age. Good stuff.drink.
