We decanted this wine for about half an hour prior to drinking.
Everything about this wine was subtle. Ruby in color and lightening toward the rim. I got faint notes of old leather from the nose. The wine was medium weight on the palate, tart cherry flavors with fine tannin - lots of structure here - the acidity in the wine was bright paired well with food. I did detect a touch of heat on the finish, but not so much as to detract from my enjoyment of it.
A well made wine - very good. (88 pts.)

Thanks for the note, John. I really, really liked this producers' Chianti Grosse Senese bottling.
