Fulkerson Winery Releases Two 2005 Dry Reds:
2005 Noiret and 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon

Dundee, NY – June, 12th, 2007 – Fulkerson Winery has released its 2005 Noiret and 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon wines to great acclaim.

This marks Fulkerson Wineries first wine release of the experimental grape variety Noiret as a single variety wine (we have used Noiret in our 2003 and 2005 Caleb wine Bordeaux blend). Noiret is a complex interspecific hybrid resulting from a cross made in 1973 between NY65.0467.08 and ‘Steuben’ and created at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station, Geneva, NY and recently named on July 10th, 2006. The production of 49 cases of the 2005 Noiret from one of the best dry red grape growing years in recent memory should provide consumers a peak into what a fantastic grape variety Noiret really is and can be for the future of the Finger Lakes.

2005 Noiret
Treat yourself to this brand new wine! This “just released” Hybrid developed by Cornell U. is richly colored with plum, cola and white pepper aromas lightly scented with violets. It has a mellow mouth-feel, layers of black cherry and elderberry fruit that are held together by a fine tannic structure. The current release has a residual sugar of 0% and was aged in French & American Oak barrels for 12 months. Pair with red pasta sauces, braised beef or lamb shanks.
Cost: $12 .00 per bottle / $ 132.19 per case (w/ 15% discount).

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
Generous fruit forward aromas of blackberries with a touch of leather and tobacco carry through
to a fruity tart taste edged with vanilla that ends on a serious tannic note. The current release has a residual
sugar of 0% and was aged in French Oak barrels for 1 year. A sharp cheese, a bite of steak, a sip of Cab…
Cost: $16 .00 per bottle / $ 176.26 per case (w/ 15% discount).

Fulkerson Winery is bullish on its future sales and growth potential. Our market for our fine wines stretches throughout New York State, from New York City to Buffalo. We also ship to many customers in reciprocal shipping states. Fulkerson Winery is owned and run by the seven generation Fulkerson family on there 202 year old grape and fruit farm on Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes of Central New York. Savor the Unique!

Ed, many thanks for that Noiret note. I can't wait to try a varietal Noiret - very excited to see this utterly new-generation red hybrid coming onto the wine scene. No doubt wineries will have to experiment with styles to see what sort of oak regimen works best with the wine. I certainly hope that the grape gets used for premium-quality reds and that it be in that sphere that its reputation is built.

I'll have the '05 Noiret from Presque Isle at NiagaaCOOL.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.
