WTN: Lucien Albrecht Cremant D' Alsace Rose

by Marc D » Thu Jun 21, 2007 12:41 am

The sun finally made an appearance up here in NW Washington today. It seemed like a good idea to pop open one of these to sip on the porch and enjoy the weather.

100% Pinot Noir made by the methode champenoise. It is somewhere between light pink and copper color. Strawberry and other red berry fruits in the nose. Crisp acidity but definitely off dry. This was sweeter than a bottle of the Albrecht regular cremant I remember. Lingers a bit on the finish. Nothing too serious, more in the fun stuff category. About $15.

Best,
Marc

I have one or two of these also and will probably open in the next two or three weeks. We had a semi dec Cremant d'Alsace from a different producer (not a rosé--just used Robin's instructions for the accent mark and it worked!) at a wine dinner last night to accompany the dessert of pear tartin. Nice combination.
