Rahsaan was lucky to visit RSJ the other day (London). Here is the winelist................

I used to know RSJ very well. They are very nice people and exceptional ambassadors for Loire wine. However I hope that these are restaurant prices because, if these are the prices being asked in the retail shop, they are exorbitant; more in pound units than we pay here in euro units (£1=EUR 1,48 approx) and the Belgian price is substantially higher than retail at the estate.

Those are restaurant prices, and quite fair in my opinion (for London). If you go elsewhere on the website you can see their retail prices which are also quite fair (most of the older Muscadet are under 10GBP and not much more for the Savennieres).

The food is up and down, last night was a relative up, although there were very few customers and they were happy when we left because they could finally close up..

Rahsaan,

I have now found their retail prices and offer many apologies to RSJ for implying doubt about their QPR. On those producers where i have made a direct comparison, e.g. Thierry germain and Mabileau, their prices are very close to those here in Belgium. Such moderation is rare in London. And those restaurant prices show a quite reasonable mark-up. Next time i am in London I will try to call in.

Are Tom King and Nigel Wilkinson still active in the business?

I don't know about Nigel but Tom is definitely still involved in the retail business.
