South Eastern Australia.

Almost black in the glass, staining the sides of the glass and our teeth and tongues.

A nose of smoke, spice and black licorice.

Rich and thick, with sweet black cherry fruit, smoky, a nice "edge" which reminds me of cherry cough syrup (a descriptor which I usually reserve for Grenache), menthol and a charred note.

A very big, thick fruit forward wine, which is saved (somewhat) by tangy acidity. Would recommend this wine with only the heartiest of meals, such as thick stews or BBQ ribs, slathered with BBQ sauce.

Very spicy and sweet on the finish.
