    Pecorino is the rarely seen ancestor of the white Pinot varietals, but certainly doesn't taste like a Pinot Gris or Blanc. Fruity, yes, but richer and bolder. Good structure and an evolving presence. Add in an acidic backbone that doesn't turn sour and you have an excellent match for shrimp on the grill or some mild Thai food. Probably good for sipping on its own, but our bottle didn't last that long.

    The Semidano that I opened first was extremely corked. (88 pts.)
