2002 Oberon Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley California. Seven Seas Voyager.

Deep red color, deep hue, very good fruit and spice aroma with quite a bit of oak and toffee, good fruit taste with spice and pepper notes, oaky, medium mouth feel, somewhat tannic that softened a bit over fifteen minutes, long single note finish. A pretty good match with Gouda cheese and crackers, where the oak notes seemed to enhance the combination adding a pleasant flavor note. 2*+.

A very pretty label, elegant.

Notes: http://www.oberonwines.com/ Michael Mondavi winemaker. Blend from throughout Napa Valley with most of the fruit coming from the Stags Leap District. 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5.6% Merlot, 0.4% Petit Verdot. 12 months in French oak. Alcohol: 14.5%.
