So here's another Tea Tasting Note from a keen tea drinker but amature when it comes to tea knowledge! Apparently Castleton is a very highly respected producer (?) and if this First Flush Finest Tippy Golden Flower Orange Pekoe is anything to go by, I agree! This is lovely stuff.

Brewed at just under boiling point (c. 95 C) and seeped for just a couple minutes, this became a lovely shade of orange - like a 1983 Sauternes at the moment. The nose is fresh. This freshness sticks so well to my mind as it so lovely and nuanced in its almost citrussy overtones. The palate is a touch tannic (not very much), almost like milk in its texture despite the charming roughness brought on by the tannins. The palate is also very fresh - almost with the green-tea like (which the tea leaves actually more look like) savoury note. Lovely stuff. I've been drinking this aplenty recently. Must buy more.

Cheers,
Otto
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
