Oatmeal and thanks to Bob Ross

by davidloble » Tue Mar 28, 2006 3:28 pm

Many months ago in an oatmeal thread, Bob recommended Silver Palate oats. I finally found them on sale locally at $1.99/box. They are deliciously chewy and toasty-tasting. I grabbed four boxes and am indebted to Bob. Now I can tell my grand-sons in Oz that I've something that compares favorably to Uncle Tobey's porridge.

Frivolous post, but, for a moment there, I almost thought I had a double on the forum!
Cheers,

You are both welcome, David. Love the stuff. Buy it by the case for the same price. The Market Basket gets $4.00.

A little riff on Jenise's one pot dish -- a little olive oil, quarter cup of oatmeal, three egg whites, one egg twice or thrice a week, Microwave on the 4th level of power, 6 minutes cooking.

Result is a delicious little oatmeal cake filled with all the stuff my GP says is good for me.

Regards, Bob
