Must be a Chicago thing. We've done it this way for years. BK (before kids) this was a once a week I'm too tired to cook anything dinner.

I think you should find a different name for this concoction. It's like those frozen bagel-pizzas that were on the market 30 years ago. Truly horrible idea, and nothing to do with pizza. I'm not suggesting that the pita version is bad, but it has nothing to do with pizza.

I would suggest that you call this a pita pie, or a flatbread.
