Food and Art

by Howie Hart » Sat Jun 02, 2012 9:36 am

A few days ago, I went to the Allbright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo. Among their collection they had this: http://www.albrightknox.org/collection/collection-highlights/piece:vibert-marvelous-sauce/.
It's a great collection - I was mesmerized by a Van Gogh they have.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

Cute, and interesting to think about. The write-up draws some conclusions about what Vibert was saying with this painting, but I wish he or she had commented on who they believe paid for the painting, as back in those days most painters lived on sponsorships and painted on commission.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

The Albright-Knox is an absolute jewel for Buffalo.
