Has anyone ever heard of putting chunks of orange in the cranberry sauce?

Sure! K, it's done all the time. Adds a different texture, and the cranberries need the acidity. I'm adding orange segments to the compote I'm making today, in fact. Orange peel's quite common, too.

Did it myself this morning, along with some lemon and lime zest.

Sure. I like to use orange zest as well, K. Makes it, well, zesty. :)

It's a common addition. My cousins usually add oranges and walnuts to cranberries. This year they added blackberries, which made the cranberries rather seedy.

It's adding marshmallows to sweet potatoes that drives me up a wall, though. Aren't they sweet enough?

I'm with ya on the marshmallows & sweet potatoes, Larry. We threw in just a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon, though, and it worked very well.
