Carbonara Wars?

by Peter May » Tue Apr 12, 2016 12:08 pm

I know the USA has stories that we in UK - no not UK, just us in England & Wales - aren't allowed to see ;)

and I wondered if you've seen the fuss about a simple Carbonara recipe?

The crux is that it is simple, i.e all cooked togther in one pot -- oh, and that it's by the French. The Italians are up in arms about it.

And now, deliciously., it turns out the recipe was sponsored by an Italian pasta company. !!!

I had not heard about it. Clearly, the Demotivateur recipe is junk. (Reminds me of the famous "Demotivation" line of pictures, but they appear to be sincere.)

Anyway, as you might imagine, I already have a low opinion of Barilla so it doesn't surprise me that they are involved. There's no such thing as bad publicity, I guess.
