Lemon Verbena

Anyone else like lemon verbena tea? I grow Aloysia triphylla and it makes a delightful tea when you soak some leaves in boiling water. Not to be confused with Verveine (Verbena officinalis) or lemon balm.

and certainly not to be confused with Blind Lemon.....

I've never had it. Have you always enjoyed this or is it one of the unexpected side benefits of your recent diet restrictions?

Actually, I have zero diet restrictions at this point.

It is an herb that I've grown for a few years but have only recently started making tea with it. We both enjoy it.

I know that; it's just that sometimes restrictions force us to break with old habits and we become a bit more open-minded in the process.

True. Eating a bit more fruit but otherwise sticking to my wayward path of wanton destruction of protein!

I've grown a lemon verbena bush at every house I've ever lived at. I love the scent. Every time I go past I squash one of the leaves and sniff deeply. Delicious!

Have you ever made lemon verbena custard?

No - I was going to ask if you did.
I like the idea of it but haven't ever tried making it.

Yes it is, I've seen some of them. It's always good to get someone's recommendation, though.
