thanks for link. Never have tried, but got some long beans (asparagus beans) at market yesterday and thought they'd be perfect for experiment, trimmed and in freezer now. Will report

So long beans (I trimmed to 4" sections) froze beautifully. Defrosted, toweled off, quick sautee with a little garlic, finished with a little oyster sauce to finish. Easy, but I thought a little chewier than my normal. But I really can't say that is because of method, could have been the beans. I'll try again with asparagus, regular green beans, or snow peas. The idea is certainly appealing during bountiful season.

When I was in Holland 20 years ago friends there surprised me by throwing a whole bag of prepared kale* in the freezer overnight for use the next day--they've been onto this for a long time.

*Europe has been cleaning/bagging portions of fresh vegetables for decades and Holland--a country of bicycles--has led the way. When one has to take dinner home in the basket of a two-wheeler, economy of space is huge and buying raw-but-ready enables consumers to buy more.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
