Pics from the Pig Roast!!!

by Jenise » Sat Aug 04, 2018 1:38 pm

After she was delivered, we spread her out on a table in the driveway to trim all unneccessary things away, including the eyeballs, brains, nipples and trotters. Oh, and we even had to shave her--most of her hair was gone, but some telltale remained and we had to make her perfectly smooth. Wish I'd gotten a picture of the UPS guy pulling into the driveway. :)

From the trim table to the whirlpool tub we bought at the Re Store for $25. They'll actually come and take it away too, and we get a tax deductible donation! Here she is on roasting day after we'd broken all the ice off and bilge-pumped the brine out.

Our pig weighed 152 pounds. This roaster is designed to take up to 300 lbs.

I designed a litter-slash-carving table for a four-man carry from the driveway/front to the back patio where the party was under way, and had bought fern head bands for the carriers.

Looks great Jenise, particularly after all the difficulties with the equipment. Job well done.
