Printed laminated menu at nearby café has these unmissable breakfast items.

Karen, I think Peter is chuckling at the unusual spellings of common dishes.

Peter, are you still in South Africa? Is this a restaurant where English might not be the first language?

Yes, I am in RSA.

Elsewhere on the menu these items are spelled correctly. I would have thought that a computer spell checker would have caught them, or whoever printed or laminated it.

The menu is in English, which is a national language and I've not encountered anyone who doesn't speak it, which is why I jighlighted it. Non-Engliah speaking countries that have an English translation for visitors are not criticised by me, though they may make me laugh,. The menu is in English (so is the cafe name) with headings BREAKFAST and LUNCH and there are no menus in other languages

Robin, I read that so fast that my brain auto corrected. I had to go back and look closely to see the spelling. Good grief.

My brain auto-corrected, too.

I once bought a jar of imported hoisin sauce where the ingredients list included "floor" and "monosodium grutamate".
