2004 Ermacora Redosco "Dal Peduncolo Rosso". 13% alcohol, $16 or so from K&L Wines.

Very dark wine, almost black in the middle of the glass with a dark red rim. Nose was initially very effusive but toned down a bit as the bottle sat open. Interesting nose, with some orange-citrus sharpness, a little shoe polish, some leathery character. Maybe even a touch of lavender. In the mouth, there's a prominent heaviness to the wine - it comes across as very thick and extracted. There's a lot of leathery character with only a little red fruit. Tart acidity, very mild tannins, good length.

Overall, a very interesting wine that I liked quite a bit. Pretty good QPR, and I have no idea what this would do with a few more years on it.
