Dear Daniel !
What can you say about this wine and what would you recommend to drink it with?
How long do you think i should decant it?

Ya'akov, Hi.....

I have to start off with a question: Why decant? If t'were my table, I would do nothing more than open the bottle 45-60 minutes before serving, thus to let the wine open in the glass as people sip rather than lose that pleasure as it happens unwatched and untasted in the decanter.

My tasting note follow.

Mas Martinet, Martinet Bru, Priorato, 2002: Deep garnet in color, medium- to full-bodied, with solid tannins and wood, those balanced beautifully by aromas and flavors of wild berry, red plum and bitter-sweet chocolate. Delicious now but don't hesitate to cellar until 2012. Score 91. (Tasted 23 Feb 2005)

Yaakov....

Among good food matches - chicken alla cacciatore, steaks and chops especially when served with a lightly spicy tomato-based sauce; beef tartare; really good hamburgers; or, in a very different vein, veal blanquette.

Daniel Hi!
Well we've just had dinner with, of course, this wine and lamb ribs .
It was very well matched and really delicious.
I am not sorry.
I am very thankful for your advice, it allways makes our meal even more enjoyable.
Thanks a lot.

My own TN follows, should it be of interest to anyone.

Martinet Bru 2002 (tasted 30/03/2008) - Fruit-packed nose with jam, choclate and roasting. Medium-full bodied, ripe and fruity on the palate showing gentle tannins and pleasant dryness, following to a nice fruity finish. Manages to show balance and perhaps some gentleness together with all this rich, ripe fruit. Imported by Shaked, 110 NIS. Good wine.
