Agree with Hoke on the ESJ. Would also add the Terre Rouge Sentinel Block, their "Ascent" (if you are up for shelling out $75, which I am not), and the Cedarville syrah (for a much more reasonable $23 or so).

And in turn I would agree with Mike on the Cedarville!

I also agree that while the Terre Rouge is good, I ain't gonna spend THAT much money on it. I'll have to forego the pleasure.

GMTA Hoke! Steve's wines were the first to come to my mind too. Like you said, go for the best!

Terre Rouge has four other nice Syrahs ranging from $15 to $35 U.S. We like the Sierra Foothills at $24. We also thoroughly enjoy Tobin James Rock-n-Roll Syrah (Paso Robles) for $18 U.S.

Well, the chef has returned and it ain`t good....Bonterra Syrah!! Well it was rec`d by store staff where there "were wines stacked to the roof". Where, is it Temecula?
It`s been a rough weekend, a terrible Sandhill Gamay and a Drouhin which is labelled Morgon. Blah blagh!
