1995 Drouhin Santenay Burgundy France.

WTN: 1995 Drouhin Santenay Burgundy France. 13% alcohol. Imported by Dreyfus, Ashby & Co. Pale red color, medium hue. Very good fruit and spice aroma and tastes, earthy notes giving the wine a rustic character, medium mouth feel, smooth well integrated tannins, long finish with good fruit, spice and earth notes. I didn't find any floral notes in the aroma or the taste.

Tried valiantly but failed to save grilled bison from Canada -- full of sinew and quite unpleasant; Clive was delighted. North Fork Bison, Inc.

Drouhin rocks! I recently had their '96 Santenay which was lovely. Also their Santenay-Beaurepaire '99 is an all time favourite QPR for me. What I wondered about was that the S-B '99 according to Drouhin should have been drunk up by 2002!!!! I enjoyed my last bottle in 2005 and it was the best of them all. Maybe I'm necrophiliac? Maybe Drouhin was playing safe with their suggestion? Maybe both?

I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
