WTN: more stuff

Causse Maunes (Patrice Lescarret), Gaillac, 'les Greilles', 2002
A very light bronzed yellow. Lemon oil, kombu, and old cut grass on the dull nose. Oily lemon rind with a salty dimension, flaxseed, has a waxy finish that stops short of full lanolin, but heading in that direction. Tastes slightly oxidixed. Drink NOW. 12% low B

Siro Pacenti, Brunello di Montalcino, 1996 Tight and austere, the cherry fruit here is buried by oak and tough tannins, while having the acidity of sangiovese. Yeech city.

Ferrando, Erbaluce di Caluso, 2004
A medium deep gold colored. Nose of spicy ginger, radish sprouts, with lime zest. On the palate, spicy gingered pea with yellow fruits and a short, flatish finish, reminiscent of an arneis. 12.5% Not bad, and able to keep a few days without falling apart. B+

That's too bad. I liked the Siro I tried in a wine shop (and then paid too much for). Hopefully the 2001s are better. All the usuals seem to like them
