WTN Pourpre De Grezette, Malbec,2004 from Cahors

Can anybody give TN or their impression re this wine.

Im afraid I cant help you as Im not familiar with the wine.....

But if you are looking for Malbec, why not consider going to the "source" and looking south to Salta and/or Mendoza instead of Cahors...?

This wine comes from the Château Lagrézette empire, which is one of the best known in Cahors, if not one of the best loved by Cahors connoisseurs. From their website it seems to be an entry level wine and it is not clear whether it enjoys the Cahors appellation.

Lagrézette is undoubtedly a technically skilled producer (Michel Rolland consults there, I think) but its wines therefore tend to be international in style with lavish oaking, short of Cahors typicity and difficult to distinguish from hundreds of other wines in the world.

So although Cahors had Malbec at least 1000 years before Mendoza, in this instance Alejandro might be right in saying that you would be better off at that source .
