Ruth`s Chris opening in Edmonton!

Yup, we need another upscale restaurant here in Edmonton! 490 seats on two levels, wonder where they are going to find the staff for that number?
Will check out once they have settled down!
Located in an old historic bank building close to Westin and Fairmont hotels.

Bob, never been to one. When I go out, I go out for etnic food. Steak? Never. So the idea of going out for $40 steaks is simply not in my book, and has only happened for business dinners where I didn't choose the restaurant. And in such situations, Ruth's Chris (hate that name) has so far evaded me.

Interesting addition to a town like Edmonton, though. All those oil men gotta eat. :)

Wow,
We have quite a few 'upscale' restaurants already. Probably they will take some folks from Hy's but I can't see going to 'Ruth's Chris' instead of the 'Hardware Grill' the 'Red Ox' or 'Jack's Grill' for about the same money. There are others who might suffer but they shall remain nameless!

Ruth (no not that Ruth, but I have eaten at the one in Nashville)

Ruth, the great local places probably won't lose much to a place like Ruth's, it's the visiting business folk who will keep it up and running. The known-quantity thing.

Hy's--do they have one in Calgary, too? If so, I ate there. Fabulous beef.
