Just for the matter of records: "Spätburgunder" is the term used in Germany, while in Austria it's always "Blauburgunder".

You're right, I've never seen nor heard of any of them! New horizons...

Michael, Do you see anyone still using "Blauer Spaetburgunder"? It seems to me that it's mostly "Pinot Noir" these days anyway. Is there any Fruehburgunder in Austria? I've never seen mention of it.

Prost!

Bill, "Blauer Spätburgunder" has never been used in Austria. Over here, it's either "Blauburgunder", "Blauer Burgunder", or "Pinot N/noir". You're right, the latter term is the one most common today. And, no, to my knowledge there is no Frühburgunder grown in Austria.

"Grüß Gott" would be an option, "Herzliche Grüße" or "einen schönen Gruß nach Österreich" others, but all rather formal.

I've noticed that Austrian is generally more formal than German. From the imperial past? Or perhaps because of the Reformation? Or am I just imagining things?
