I was informed today that there will be no 2010 vintage for the Recanati Special Reserve red blend as the grapes were not up to the requested quality for producing the blend. Looks like another sign that the new winemaking team have a very different philosophy than their predecessors as it's the first time in a decade that they decide not to make the RSR.
While 2010 was by far not the best vintage in Israel, Recanati still have managed to produce some fantastic wines such as the Mediterranean series and the Wild Reserve Carignan but since Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are the main varieties in the RSR, these weren't apparently good enough. I guess we'll just have to stick longer with the previous vintages...
