Quick note as it is late here, will post asap. The Yamhill was a popular #1 closely followed by the Rion Gevrey (my fav). The Coldstream flew out of the store, the Lake Breeze was way too tannic and least popular. Will email them and see what is going on with this wine!! Split votes on the Drylands which did not do much for me. Stay tuned.

#1 Drylands. One of the tasters has just returned from a year in NZ..."this ain`t it"she said. Closed nose, licorice bubblegum on palate, some oak in background and tannins. One taster thought "new world w. touch of old world earthyness". Not for me, must be better out there.

#2 Rion Pinot Noir. Third time tasted and softening up. Still has the oak and medium tannins. Dry, not much on the nose. Young house going places?

#3 Lake Breeze (BC). Nose is very floral but dies in the glass over an hour. Too tannic for everyone, least liked wine here. See my notes above in other post. I emailed winery and their kind reply made no mention of my tannin concern!!

#4 Coldstream Hills. Up till now the best one here, lots of wows!! Nice balance, good value at $26 Cdn. Medium bodied with plum, cherry, soft tnnins, very fruit forward. Flew out of the store at end of evening.

#5 Rion Gevrey-Chambertin. Wotn for many, tad barnyardy, mushrooms and truffles. Yum!! Good grip, shows that acidity we relate to with Burgundy. Can just imagine what the high-ends are like from this appellation.

#6 Yamhill/Dom Serene. What is there to add about this wine from Oregon? Interesting to serve after the Rion eh. Top class.

Thanks for these notes, Bob. I'll see if any of these are available around here. Possibly so.

Bob, the #3 wine - is it Lake Breeze or Cedar Creek? You mention both.

Good eye John, program was changed at last minute. I have edited, it was the Lake Breeze.

Ah, too bad. The original choice (Ceadr Creek) would probably have been better, but it sounds like that wouldn't have been difficult!
