Shipping wine from israel to america ?

by Elchonon Hellinger » Sat Oct 13, 2012 11:43 pm

Hey guys,
Headed to Israel mid november for 3 weeks, want to visit winery's and bring back about 100 bottles.. yes 100... this is purely for my own consumption. I have great carrier shipping rates because of my business, but a few questions.

Does it need to be climate controlled ?
What would the us customs charge me ? im not clear in this
would these type of shipping materials be good ? http://www.uline.com/BL_5450/Styrofoam- ... 20Supplies

I want to bring in a lot of wines that arent imported in case your asking why the heck im even bothering ;)

Elchonon, as far as US Customs is concerned, here is a link to the appropriate website: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail ... emade-wine)-to-the-u.s.-for-personal-use

Those boxes that you linked to would do the job, but they are very expensive (as listed) and not necessarily available in Israel. I am sure you can find similar packing materials over there.
