Valle dell'Acate Il Frappato DOC: VittoriaFrappato (100% Frappato; 13.00%; L2412; TempleImports/Denver) Acate/Sicilia 2011: Very dark color; some earthy/mineral/volcanic/dusty/OV/pungent rather fragrant cherry/black cherry/licorice slight spicy/thyme very attractive nose; slightly tart some earthy/mineral/volcanic/pungent spicy/cherry/black cherry/almost PN-like bit rustic/coarse flavor w/ modest tannins; med.long earthy/dusty/volcanic/OV slight tart spicy/cherry/black cherry/licorice/thyme slightly rustic/coarse finish w/ light tannins; a rather interesting/attractive/pretty Sicilian red w/o the heavy texture of Nero d'Avola or NerelloMascalese. $17.00 (AV)
